New Natures
Throughout scripture God renames people, granting them a whole new identity. This foreshadowed what would take place in Christ. In Jesus, God breathed upon the human race a new name and identity. He prophesied of this day coming when he said, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh”
The Finished Work
When Jesus died, he announced “it is finished!” An old convent relationship with God ended and a new way of relating was born. In other words, we are going from a relationship with God that depended on our effort, diligent striving, and religious devotion/obedience and sacrifice, into a new way of relating with God. One that is marked by resting in what God accomplished and achieved through Jesus.
His Fullness
We have received the fullness of God. As Paul of Tarsus writes “For (Jesus) is the complete fullness of deity living in human form. And our own completeness is now found in him. We are completely filled with God as Christ’s fullness overflows withins us…” (Col. 2:9-10).
Intimacy with Jesus
It is this obsessive addiction to the very person of God that compels us to meet together. Each individual knowing the riches of His fellowship, drives our passion to corporately gather. Each person knowing the depths of His intimate love and kindness.
